Philae Temple (Isis temple, goddess of magic, wife of Osiris, and mother of Horus)

Temple de Philae (Temple d'Isis, déesse de la magie, femme d'Osiris, et mère d' Horus)

Isis is the one who collected all the pieces of her husband Osiris, after he has been murdered by his brother Seth and cut in 14 pieces, and spread out along the Nile. She made a mummy with the help of Anubis the god of mummification (with the head of a jackal). Isis is often represented with wings and Osiris as a mummy.

Isis est celle qui a reconstitué le corps de son mari après qu'il ait été assassiné par son frère Seth, puis découpé en 14 morceaux jetés dans le Nil. Isis a fait une momie, avec l'aide d'Anubis, le dieu de la momification (tête de chacal) pour le reconstituer. Isis est souvent représentée avec des ailes, et Osiris comme une momie.

Thanks to UNESCO, the temple was moved stone by stone in another island and reconstructed to avoid the fload of the Nile because of the Aswan Dam.

Grâce à L'UNESCO, le temple a été déplacé pierre par pierre pour être reconstruit sur une autre île et ainsi échapper à la montée des eaux due au barrage d'Assouan.

ABU SIMBEL en Nubie / in Nubia

One of the most beautiful temple and well preserved marvel of Egypt. This double temple was built by Ramses II. One temple (on the right) is dedicated to his wife Nefertari, and the other temple is dedicated to Ramses. Because of the construction of the Aswan dam, those temples were about to be floated by the future Lake Nasser. So with the help of UNESCO, the temples were disassembled stone by stone, the stones numbered, and reconstructed in an artificial concrete nest 100 m higher.

Une des plus belles et mieux préservées merveilles d'Egypte. Ce double temple a été construit par Ramses II. Le temple à droite est dédié à sa femme Nefertari, et celui de gauche à Ramses lui-même. A cause de la construction du haut barrage d'Assouan, ces temples devaient être submergés par les eaux du futur lac Nasser. Avec l'aide de l'UNESCO, les temples ont été déconstruits pierre par pierre, les pierres numérotées et le tout mis dans un nid artificiel de béton 100 m plus haut.
